Whew it's been a hot minute since we've last posted. No better time than the hottest day of the year, to sit down in the air conditioning and catch this bad boy up! I know you're all wondering, what in the world we have been up to!
Well, I've taken a few trips. I managed to escape to Canada during our last heat wave. To say I was disappointed to miss 100 degree heat, would be a lie! I spent 4 days in Calgary attending a conference. What a beautiful city! I really wish I would have had more time to explore, especially since I was so close to Banff & Lake Louise, but there's always next time! I also took a trip to Louisville, for another conference. This was our big sales kick off conference, so it was great to get together with other peers and share our ideas for the future. I even put a little money down on some horses while we were at Church Hill Downs.
Justin, he unfortunately hasn't been able to travel but he's been busy on the farm. We started calving around the beginning of August, so that's been keeping him rather busy. Plus it's a treat to see those fresh little baby's running around the pasture. It's personally one of my favorite times of year.
It was also County fair season at the beginning of the month. We both spent some time volunteering at my home county fair. I helped my dad sell tickets for the grandstands and then we both helped out in our Beef Associations food booth, serving up some of the most delicious ribeye sandwiches you could ever have! My brother John and I took care of the Livestock Auction at two of our local fairs. Justin managed to buy a pretty expensive peach pie, but hey it's for the kids!
All in all, we've been living life to the fullest and enjoying every moment we can. Here's a photo dump of all things August. ;)
